Ditch the gold and glitter this Christmas in favour of a more textural tree topper!
Watch the video above for instructions on making your own yarn Christmas star. This can be made in different sizes and colours to suit your decorating preference!
YOU WILL NEED
Ruler; pencil; foamcore board or thick cardboard; scissors; coloured yarn; sticky tape; hot-glue gun.
STEP 1
Using a ruler and pencil, mark out a star shape on the foamcore board. Cut out.
STEP 2
Attach the end of the yarn to the star with a piece of sticky tape.
STEP 3
Start wrapping the yarn around the star.
STEP 4
When you reach an odd angle, use the hot-glue gun to secure the yarn (you will need to do this frequently around the corners), then continue wrapping.
STEP 5
When the star is completely wrapped in yarn, snip the end and tuck it under, securing to the foamcore board with a piece of sticky tape.
