We're already in love.

As far as interior trends go, colour always plays a major role.

Case in point-you may remember this particular hue, better known as Millennial Pink.

The cool toned, uber-feminine shade dominated not only decor trends, but fashion and food trends, too. Now, we’re looking to the new year, wondering what comes next.

Well, we may have the answer – in fact, we seemed to have called it a month ago.

Now, in 2018, we’re beginning to see a certain hue appear again and again. In fact, it’s appeared in the collections of not one, but four different top paint brands-so if you consider yourself an early adopter, take note.

Meet clay – Millennial Pink’s warmer, notably more sophisticated counterpart.

Although it’s known by various names (Sherwin and Williams’ ‘Cabbage Rose’, Jotun’s ‘Silent Serenity’‘, Pantone’s ‘Desert Sand‘) the colour is quickly cementing itself as 2018’s answer to Millennial Pink.

It’s understated enough to create monochrome looks without feeling overwhelming, and its neutral quality makes it ideal for pretty much any room in the house, whether it’s utilized on walls, furniture, linen or cabinetry.

Even though Pantone’s Colour of the Year was a notably bolder shade, could this trend still be a worthwhile investment? Only time will tell.
